Core Terms
CAB
Cabochon
A gemstone shaped and polished with a non-faceted face that may include beveled sides.
GRD
Grade
A classification based on defined criteria under the current edition.
ATT
Grading Attribute
One independently evaluated component of the official grade: Color, Matrix, or Zat.
Reference and Report Terms
MS
Master Stone
A calibrated reference specimen or set showing a level of rarity within a grading attribute.
REG
Registry
The official permanent record of grading reports issued under The Turquoise Standard.
ZAT
Zat
Visual impact, vibrancy, brightness, contrast, and overall pop of the stone.
